Max Thoughts

Max went to meet his maker last week, his suffering finally over. He bounded into heaven, wagging his tail playfully and didn’t fall over or bump into the pearly gates because his cataracts have now fallen away. Once blind as a bat, Max now sees like a hawk. As he rolls over the angels tickle his belly and he runs around the gardens, barking excitedly and chasing cats. That impressive coat of many colours is renewed and every bump and blemish has been stripped away. He is once more the Max whose sad eyes first smiled and showed love and affection when he was adopted from the dogs’ home. The same Max who accompanied me over fields and through parks and along beaches. He is my very own Old Shep but I am rejoicing in my heartache because he is free from his pain. It’s good to believe that there is no cancer in heaven and who knows, he may have been greeted up there by a smiling redhead saying, “ Surprise, surprise, chuck. You’re gonna rav a lorra lorra laughs here with me.” Rest and have fun in peace, Max.
